“As a grandmother of three, I am grateful for the wonderful services of groups like Energy Savers Network. They weatherized our home for winter– things like weather stripping, caulking, energy saver light bulbs, cracks, etc. This is a free service with a group of volunteers that they train onsite to complete the needs. Their help has made our home warmer and more comfortable while saving us money on our energy bills. Thank you for coming into my home!”

“Having the team from Energy Savers come to our house to help us save money on our electric bill was definitely a great thing to do. I loved the commitment and effort they put in everything they were doing and how they explained in detail the process of weatherizing our home. I hope more people in the community take advantage of this great opportunity.”
“In 2024, Hurricane Helene flood waters devastated my neighborhood and destroyed my HVAC/heating unit ductwork along with my floor insulation. The Energy Savers Network folks were able to fix the crumbled duct work and recommended a service to replace my insulation. They are wonderful to work with and I no longer feel a breeze as I walk by windows and doors.”

Every dollar donated to Energy Savers Network leverages our funding from Duke Energy Progress. As a Duke Energy Qualified Weatherization Provider we get paid for every low-income family that we help through a formula that includes an hourly rate for our staff and volunteer time. However, there are MANY costs not paid by Duke that we must pay for through other means. This is where donors like you come in. Your donation helps locally to lower the energy cost of our low-income neighbors while bringing in funds to our community and speeding the transition to clean energy. It’s a win-win with great bang for the buck.
…and/or you can volunteer your time
It’s a handy job.
It’s fun and social.
It’s rewarding and feels great.
Sign up to volunteer for a weatherization workday where you will change out light bulbs with LEDs, insulate water heaters and their pipes, apply caulk and foam to seal air leaks, install water aerators, install door weatherstripping and learn how a blower door works! It’s usually only 4 hours from 11am-3pm and you can pick your day on our calendar based on your schedule and location. Other volunteer opportunities are available as well.
