If you do not qualify for our free energy efficiency weatherization and upgrade services and/or you need more help, there are plenty of FREE Community Services available below.

Energy Bill Discounts & Assistance

Duke EnergyWise® Home offers rewards for helping shift energy use away from peak periods. If you have a Smart Thermostat, or an HVAC system with heat strips or a Water Heater you can qualify for up to $75 off your bill.

Duke Energy – Customer Assistance Program (CAP) provides a $42 monthly credit for 1 year if you are a Duke Customer and qualify as low-income.

Duke Energy – Energy-Efficiency Rebates – Offering home improvement rebates through their Smart $aver Program, home energy savings, trusted contractors, online savings store, and more.

NCDHHS Energy Bill Payment Assistance Programs offered by The North Carolina Division of Social Services (NCDHHS) (828) 250-5500 includes the following two programs:

Home Repair & Disaster Recovery Services:

Habitat and ARCHR (Asheville Regional Coalition for Home Repair) is offering free disaster repairs for low-income homeowner – must qualify as 80% AMI (average median income). (828) 251-5702

Renew NC Housing (888-791-0207) is a NC government funded Single-Family Housing Programthat provides centralized housing rehabilitation, reconstruction or replacement program for low-to-moderate income  families with seniors aged 62 and older, children, and/or disabled household members impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Hammer & Heart is a non-profit with a BIG heart of volunteers to help provide urgent home repairs to neighbors of the Swannanoa Valley who are financially unable to maintain their homes in a safe or livable condition.

Other Energy Efficiency Services & Rebates:

Energy Saver NC Rebate Program – for all NC residents with less than 80%-150% AMI (average median income), can help for fuel switching clients (those who use oil or gas for their appliances but want to switch to electric), must use a registered contractor.

Electrify Asheville – provides FREE Home Energy Consultation that brings consumers, contractors, and community together to accelerate the adoption of high-efficiency electric technology to save money, use less energy and promote a healthier home and planet.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte (CCDOC) – offering RV camper and trailer weatherization for Hurricane Helene survivors living in transitional housing in the FEMA-declared counties of Western North Carolina (WNC).
