Energy Savers Network is seeking a full or part-time (20-40 hrs/week) Energy Efficiency Navigator to join our small but impactful team. We are dedicated to improving the lives of our low-income community members in Buncombe and surrounding counties by providing free weatherization, energy efficiency upgrades, and home repairs. This role is perfect for someone who is mission-driven, tech-savvy, multi-task and detail oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a small team environment.

We are an Asheville based community non-profit that provides weatherization services, energy audits and major efficiency upgrades, as well as client education to help our community reduce energy consumption across four counties in order to save money on their energy bills. Role Overview

As an Energy Efficiency Navigator, you will play a crucial role in delivering our mission. You will be an integral member of the team reporting to the Director of Operations. As a small team, we value adaptability — you’ll be expected to wear multiple hats, supporting various functions as team and client needs evolve, while growing your skills on the job. The primary tasks in this position will include:

  • Client Communication, Support & Advocacy: Complete client intake applications by obtaining required documentation and household information, assessing qualification for various services, and maintain clear and compassionate communication with clients to provide updates and address concerns. Provide follow-up calls to collect feedback.
  • Project Management: Communicate and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely and efficient project completion of home repairs and energy efficiency upgrades as well as reviewing estimates and submitting invoices. 
  • Data Entry & Billing Submissions: Accurately document client data and project details within a customized Salesforce solution, as well as invoice submissions.

The role will also include at various times:

  • Community Outreach: Assist the Director of Operations in community event and outreach efforts through various marketing outreach strategies.
  • Hands-on Weatherization: Initial participation in weatherization workdays at client sites in order to understand and relay what services we offer.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to energy efficiency and community service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (e.g., email, data entry, texting)
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Salesforce and Google Workspace is desirable, as is experience in home repairs, construction, weatherization, sustainability, and related fields.
  • Valid driver’s license and utilize your own computer and smartphone. 
  • Pluses include experience in Salesforce, customer service and/or working with low-income or underserved populations.
